How long can one safely use Rawosa?

I guess that's it for my post ;-)
No, a few more details. For young adult son who was floundering till he had a dx. Someone had thought UC but then it seemed to be anal Crohn's, now one of the toppest docs he's been to says UC. A decent specialist he saw before, the one who thought it was Crohn's, started him on Flagyll, Cipro and prednisone, ideally getting him on Remicade or Imuran. My son wants to avoid the biologics. Now the dr. he just saw, who was recommend by all he saw so far as being the best on his insurance and for his condition, whatever it turned out to be, is saying UC, taking him off the antibiotics, tapering off the predsnisone, and putting him on Lialda and Rowasa. He's been on the latter for a while and I'm wondering if that's a problem. TIA!!
